Assigned Books

It is easy to assign books from the bookshelf or My Collection page. Click the Assign To icon under a book cover, then select a student or group of students in the book information window that opens. To help you judge whether a book is at an appropriate reading level, students' Lexile measures are shown under their names.

You can set a Display Date for each assignment. This controls when the book appears on the student's bookshelf in the My Assignments carousel. If you do not specify a date, the assignment will appear immediately. Staggering Display Dates allows you to assign books days or weeks in advance without worrying the assignments will overwhelm students.

Due Date allows you to specify when an assignment should be completed. You are not required to set a Due Date. 

Once you assign a book, you can monitor students' progress by going to My Classroom and clicking the Assignments tab. Or, click a book cover on the bookshelf and scroll to the Student Interaction table for an overview of who has been assigned that book and when it was completed.
