Reviewing Read Aloud Audio

Reviewing Read Aloud Audio

When a student completes a read-aloud assignment, the results appear in your inbox for you to review:

Read-aloud assignments are clearly labeled as such in the Type column, and the title of the recorded book appears as well. To review a read-aloud assignment, click Review Read Aloud > in the rightmost column of a student’s row. The completed read-aloud assignment opens.

The upper portion of the read-aloud assignment window shows the student’s recording in an audio player. Use the play/pause button to listen to the recording, or click and drag the handle on the audio waveform to move through the clip.

Click the download button to save the audio clip as an MP3 file. This allows you to listen to the recording on another device, or to archive the recording.

On the left side of the lower portion of the read-aloud assignment window is a complete version of the book being read, so that you can read along to assess the student’s read-aloud skills. Click the right- or left-hand arrow buttons to move forward or backward through the book, respectively.

To the right of the book viewer is a text field for you to enter notes on and observations about the assignment. Click and drag the lower right-hand corner of the field to resize it, and click Save notes and mark as reviewed to save what you write here and return to your Inbox. The student won’t see your notes.
